A former senior C-suite executive with global experience reporting to and advising the CEO, Mike is adept at assessing talent skilled in business process improvement, performance management, technology utilization, and cultural transformation.
His prior career is one of progressively impactful HR leadership roles in consumer-packaged goods and renewable energy companies such as the Altria family of companies (Kraft and Philip Morris) and Covanta where he was Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer from 2009 to 2018.
His experience as a member of the executive leadership team provided a sound understanding of corporate governance while leading the HR function as the company grew through acquisition and service expansion.
Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University, where he played Division I football. He also has an MBA from Columbia University, where he was a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Mike is a member of The Executive Leadership Council, a membership organization committed to increasing diversity in C-suites and corporate boards. He is also a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association in addition to being active with the NJ/NY chapters of the National Association of Corporate Directors and Society for Human Resource Management.
